CJ created “the sound of cold-water surfing” while working on award-winning short films with director Chris McClean. This soon led to becoming the go-to composer for lifestyle brands such as Finisterre, Patagonia and Northface, drawn to CJ’s take on sonic storytelling and his way of using music to evoke the feel of the wind, the waves and being on a surfboard, for their cinematic campaigns and more traditional advertising.

Now CJ has expanded to working on composition, sound design and creative vision for commercial projects on a wider basis (H&M, SKY, Bowers and Wilkins, Kenzo Jaguar), often overseeing all creative elements to deliver for TV, cinema, social and immersive medias.

Many collaborations have come through CJ’s scores for feature films and TV series, leading to long-standing partnerships with directors such as Akinola Davies Jr (My Father’s Shadow), Jem Talbot, Chris McClean, Dorothy Allen-Pickard and developed an approach that can amplify the message of any campaign.
